Australian Study Tour Camp - 7-Day Immersive Experience for International Students

Itinerary Overview

  1. Day 1: Saturday - Departure from China

    • Morning: Departure from China.
    • Afternoon: On the plane, traveling to Melbourne.
  2. Day 2: Sunday - Arrival and Camp Introduction

    • Morning: Arrive at Melbourne Airport. Begin the study tour with a welcome ceremony at the airport.
    • Afternoon: Tour the camping site, where you’ll be briefed on important guidelines and participate in ice-breaking activities. Enjoy a welcome barbecue dinner featuring a whole roasted lamb.
  3. Day 3: Monday - Outdoor Survival Skills

    • Morning:
      • 8:00-9:30: Make Australian-style outdoor pancakes using flour, eggs, avocados, and pineapples.
      • 9:30-11:30: Build different types of shelters using natural materials.
      • 11:30-13:30: Prepare ham and cheese sandwiches and chicken burgers in groups.
    • Afternoon:
      • 13:30-16:00: Learn safe fire-making techniques using various materials and how to use different types of fires.
      • 16:00-18:00: Prepare ingredients and learn to cook an outdoor hot pot using campfire cooking techniques.
      • 18:00-19:00: Basic wilderness first aid training, including handling common injuries and poisonous bites.
  4. Day 4: Tuesday - Outdoor Navigation and Cooking

    • Morning:
      • 8:00-9:30: Use outdoor cookware like Dutch ovens to make breakfast porridge with rice, beans, milk, and honey.
      • 9:30-11:30: Learn to use a compass and how to navigate without one, creating route maps with your teammates.
      • 11:30-13:30: Prepare salads and beef wraps using outdoor cookware, then enjoy your meal in the wild.
    • Afternoon:
      • 13:30-16:00: Learn to find and filter water in the wetlands near Lake Wellington.
      • 16:30-18:30: Prepare an outdoor barbecue, grilling steaks, vegetables, and making outdoor barbecue sandwiches.
      • 18:30-20:00: Sunset wildlife spotting near the camp, searching for kangaroos, possums, wombats, and echidnas.
  5. Day 5: Wednesday - Water Activities and Fishing

      • 8:00-9:30: Use the camp’s outdoor grill to prepare breakfast, including toast, avocados, and bacon.
      • 9:30-10:00: Water safety course.
      • 10:00-11:30: Kayaking course.
      • 11:30-13:30: Make pasta using outdoor cookware.

      • 13:30-15:00: Stand-up paddleboarding experience.
      • 15:00-18:00: Fishing skills session by the lake, learning different techniques and catching fish.
